No room at the inn for Bulgarians?

Nelson Mandela, the Christian message, the United Nations and our reactions to the arrival of Bulgarians and Romanians next year are all related.

After all the positive remarks regarding the life and ideas of Nelson Mandela, his lack of confrontation towards all those who made his life so difficult, we have celebrated the life and teaching of Jesus, the 2,000-year-old message like the help given to the Samaritan, a stranger in a foreign land by someone who saw the need to help without asking who was going to pay!

Then we have the so called “United” Nations, a public body where we have a long way to go for humanity to embrace the ideals of those who set it up.

Do we listen and learn from all this, especially in relation to our new arrivals from Europe and elsewhere, or have we no room in our inn?
