LETTER: Wildflower garden is a lasting legacy

Anyone who has passed the bottom of Simonstone Lane last summer I’m sure will agree that the wildflower gardens were a great success.

Not only did they look fantastic, they also encouraged many species of butterflies and bees.

The sowing of the wildflower seeds was the idea of Simonstone Garden Club as a last memory before they had to close.

The club kindly donated monies for the wildflowers, along with oak and rowan trees planted throughout the village, to be enjoyed by all for years to come.

We would hope the parish council will pick up from where the garden club left off, and donate any monies required to replenish the seeded areas this year.
