LETTER: Trying to trace the Marsh family

I AM carrying out a family history project for a client who lives in Australia.

My client is the son of Herbert Edward Marsh who was born in Burnley in 1880. He is aware his grandfather had a first wife and a child from a previous marriage.

In 1915, Herbert was a 35 year-old widower living at 1 Thurston Street, Burnley.

He had a daughter named Annie Marsh who was born in 1908, my client would dearly like to know what happened to her and if possible, make contact with her descendants.

At the time of Herbert’s second marriage in 1916 he was living at 26 The Green, Shaldon, Nr Teignmouth, Devon. He re-married in Newton Abbot Register Office to Ivy Winifred Irene Bray and had a son, Jack, who was born in Burnley in 1918.

Sergeant Major Herbert Edward Marsh of 1st East Lancashire Regiment, died of pneumonia on November 1st 1918. He is buried in Fleetwood.

Could I please ask for anyone who recognises these details to contact me on 01404446659 or email [email protected]
