LETTER: Toy Appeal makes a real difference

ON behalf of all the families we support at Home-start Pendle and Ribble Valley, we would like to say a big thank you to all the generous people of the Ribble Valley who donated toys to the Salvation Army Toy Appeal.

A massive thank you also to Elizabeth and Brenda at the Salvation Army who do a fantastic job every year of co-ordinating the toy appeal and distributing the presents across the Ribble Valley.

We would also like to thank the customers of Shackleton’s Garden Centre at Chatburn who donated toys to a number of local charities including Home-Start.Thank you also to David and Paul Shackleton for nominating Home-Start as one of the local charities benefitting and for helping to raise awareness of Home-Start in the Ribble Valley.

For some families Christmas can be a very difficult time, especially when money is tight, which is why the kindness of donating a present is even greater. The toy donations really do make all the difference. Thank you.

May we take this opportunity to wish everyone a very happy 2013.
