LETTER: Thanks for help at Clitheroe Festival of Food

From the market traders to the shopkeepers and the many voluntary organisations who willingly gave their time and effort, we are all really grateful for your help and co-operation. The festival showcased Lancashire food at its very best, the wonderful array of talented local chefs who gave their services for the benefit of the festival, the excellent hospitality of the people of Clitheroe, and the ability of Ribble Valley to host such a popular and family occasion in the aftermath of a difficult week nationally.

There are so many people I could name, but no doubt the list would never be complete so I will just thank you all. However I must single out Julie Whalley, who was the organiser of the event. She did a fantastic job with very limited resources and without her dedication, enthusiasm and hard work the festival would not have got off the ground.

Finally, thank you to all the people who attended the event and made it a great success. I am looking forward to next year’s event which we hope will be just as great a success.
