LETTER: Sums speak for themselves in Lancashire

In response to Michael Sutcliff’s usual wit, I have to say I couldn’t agree more with what he says about the “downloaded party drivel” from the internet that Pendle Labour Party members constantly submit to your paper as their own work.

He wants to know what could-be councillors are going to do.

So here goes, just a snippet from the blue corner; £10m. into apprenticeships, £5m. into travel costs for young people, put ex-Servicemen into schools to train young people, fund 48 new PCSOs, put an extra £10m. into highway repairs, invest over £30m. in education in Pendle and continue to make our roads safer.

Of course, Conservatives have already cut council tax by 2%. Between 1997 and 2009 when Labour ran County Hall, council tax increased by 97%. Since the Conservatives took over in 2009, there has never been a rise.

On top of all that, we’ve saved £215m. in our budget.

I think the sums speak for themselves.

So come on red team, what will you do?

Probably just whinge about what we’ve done if recent letters are anything to go by.
