LETTER: Rowley is given a facelift - thanks!

WE would ike to express our thanks to all the volunteeers, including the Friends of Rowley, who turned up, despite the damp, cold and muddy conditions, to plant native broad leaf and fruit trees, wildflower plugs and install bird boxes along the upgraded bridleway at Rowley Lake.

Our thanks also to Burnley’s parks staff who have carried out the excellent work on the bridleway upgrade and we are also grateful to the Big Lottery Fund for its financial support to make the trail, which will also include interpretive panels and wood carvings, as well as the trees and wildflowers.

There will also be a leaflet covering the history, flora and fauna of the trail. Thank you also to Coun. Brindle for support from the Ward Fund. The work carried out at Rowley will enhance and improve the area and will be aesthetically pleasing.
