LETTER: Rogue Trader left me in the cold

I WAS recently a victim of a rogue trader who neither had the qualification that he professed nor the practical skills needed to repair my central heating. In fact, he left it in a dangerous condition.

I tried to report it to Trading Standards, but they do not have a phone line, it has an online bureau.

They took down details, but I was not convinced they understood the problem, or the danger. No action was taken, no one contacted me to follow up my complaint – and the rogue trader has escaped scot-free.

It would seem Trading Standards do not exist in Burnley, so expect an influx of rogue traders looking for an easy ride.
