LETTER: Prom nights and nursery graduation ceremonies are step too far

I WONDER just how much more Americanised we are going to get here in Britain?

We already have seen the growth of the prom night and all the associated costs that go with it.

In my day we had a leavers’ disco in the local community hall with pop and crisps. Now parents have to fork out for dresses, suits, transport and goodness knows what else.

The latest fad seems to be nursery graduation ceremonies for four-year-olds complete with gowns and caps.

Whatever next?
