LETTER: Poppy Appeal is a record breaker!

YET another record-breaking amount has been raised for the 2012 Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal by the Burnley and Padiham public to the tune of £36,982.

This amount just about beats the 2011 figure which was itself a record.

Thanks to all of those who volunteered their time and effort to help all of those servicemen and women and their families who are in need.

Particular thanks must go to Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Marks and Spencer, Asda and Aldi in addition to all of the cadets without whose help we could not have succeeded to the extent that we have.

A special thanks also to Bill Ashcroft for his all year round effort.

Finally, the biggest thank you must go to you the Burnley and Padiham public for making 2012 another record-breaking year. Thank you all.
