LETTER: No racial or religious divide - just kindness

WHEN I injured my leg the other day I did not have taxi fare to get myself home from the hospital.

A total stranger, who had never seen me before and probably will never see me again, actually went back into her own home to give me the £4.50. She could see I was limping and I was feeling very low.

She was an Asian lady and in these days where we hear about racism and hatred and everything she helped me irrespective of my race or religion.

I thought it was a really kind thing to do. I had a tear in my eye. I hope this lady reads this letter and sees that I want to say thank you.

MR ALFRED BIRD,

NAIRNE STREET, BURNLEY
