LETTER: No ‘mansion tax’ for the wealthy

The Tories, the party of the wealthy, have ruled there will be no “mansion tax” as the Lib-Dems wanted.

Cameron, in serious earnestness, said: “We do not see why people should be deprived of their hard-earned earnings and savings.”

Of course, but what sumptuous earnings they must have had to afford homes worth at least two million pounds.

We, the ordinary people, are also hard working. But our meagre earnings, and what savings we can afford, do not allow us to enjoy the lavish lifestyle of the privileged.
