LETTER: New speed limit of 20 m.p.h. through Clitheroe centre
Has anyone noticed the new speed limit of 20mph through the town centre?
From the roundabout in Salford heading up Moor Lane there is one 20mph sign and two cameras monitoring the roundabout junction!
No-one appears to be heeding this single sign, which is, incidentally, partially obscured by the pole supporting the camera. I even saw two Police vehicles still going at between 20 to 30mph – perhaps they know something we don’t?
The reverse of this sign indicates the limit is now 30mph up Whalley Road out of Clitheroe. Does one sign only constitute a legal minimum notification of a change?
