LETTER: Nelson walk becomes dog fouling obstacle course

During the Christmas holiday my son and his family came to stay, and wanting some fresh air we walked from our house up Halifax Road, Nelson, over Kings Causeway and back along Walverden Road.

This walk became an obstacle course trying to avoid dog dirt.

In some places we hardly walked a few steps without having to tiptoe around some more of the stuff.

My four-year-old granddaughter asked why people let their dogs do this. A good question. I wonder how these dog owners would feel if young mums emptied their babies’ nappies out on to the street.
