LETTER: Moving on from my role in Whitefield

Over the past year, I have been chairman of Whitefield Community Forum but, as I have started my second year as a student at university, I believe it is time I put my community activism aside and focused on my education.

I hope to one day return to Pendle with an education and the determination to deliver for the people in positions of elected office and community positions.

I would like to use this letter to thank Iftikhar Bokhari from Pendle Council for all his help and advice over the last year.

Alongside this, I would like to thank all those who I have worked with from Pendle Council, Lancashire County Council, Great Places and many other organisations over the past year for their help and support.

Most of all, I would like to thank the Steering Group of Whitefield Community Forum and notably Coun. Abubakar Anwar, leader of Nelson Town Council group of Liberal Democrats, for his support over the past year.

I would like to wish the community of Whitefield well and I would like to finally wish my successor the best of luck in the role of chairperson of the forum.
