LETTER: Lancashire County Council should sell land, not make cuts

AFTER reading about the Lancashire County Council cuts in the Express I was disgusted to see it is planning cuts to care homes and disabled youngsters.

Yet the county council can give buildings and land away as well as give funding to community groups. To me, this is not right, the county council should not be making cuts to care homes.

I am in favour of community groups if they are self-funding and run with the right people. However, I would ask why we need three groups in one area all doing the same thing.

I think the county council should look again at the cuts and start with things that council tax-payers can do without, not the things we need.

The county council should be made to sell the buildings and land that is no longer of use and put the money back into services.
