LETTER: Investing in Whalley Community Hydro
My advice is don’t invest ‘even a brass farthing’
Today I have received in the post a card from Whalley Community Hydro, a co-operative company, seeking investors for a hydro electricity facility to be constructed at Whalley Weir for which they have planning permission and I assume this has been given wide circulation in the Ribble Valley.
You may wish to advise your readers that, before anyone considers investing even a brass farthing in this scheme, they should check what has been achieved, or more precisely, what has not been achieved by the hydro installation at Settle Weir.
