LETTER: Help for Heroes boost at Higher Buck

There were Phil on his ukulele, his singing is a treat, Thelma with her fan to keep away the heat.

There were a bloke from up the fell who had a woman from Leeds, it seems she’d almost choked on a packet of seeds.

There were Eddie and Shirley, Doreen and Liz, poems galore, so funny you wouldn’t want to miss.

There were George pulling pints, Jayne’s potato pie, laughing and singing, you could hear it in the skies.

And when all the folks were going home and saying “Cheerio”, it was good to know we’d raised some cash for “Help For Heroes”.
