LETTER: Every drop of blood spilled in Egyptian revolt is in worthwhile cause

MY commiserations to the families of those who died demonstrating against the Mubarak regime.

In their corner of the world a fight is taking place and as yet we do not know what the outcome will be.

The one things we can be sure of is that every drop of blood that has been spilled has been in a worthy cause.

Democracy is the foundation of the modern world.

Mubarak has been in power for 30 years and is denying the will of the people to give way at the age of 82.

Egypt needs him to step aside now to allow the country to develop and its inhabitants to have their freedom to choose.

Many countries are watching with bated breath and this could be a trigger for many other countries to challenge repressive regimes.

I hope so too. People must have the right to choice as to who rules them or they are nothing more than slaves in their own country.
