LETTER: Dog fouling spoils Cliviger

I refer yet again to the vast amount of dog fouling that spoils our beautiful village.

It is particularly noticeable in Holme Chapel on the road leading up to Bridge End and on the path to Overtown, down Mount Lane and back up through Walk Mill.

As I have yet to see a stray dog walking through Cliviger, I can only assume the culprits must be attached to a lead and therefore an owner.

I must add the majority of dog owners are responsible and clean up after their dogs but these few selfish owners are giving us all a bad name.

These irresponsible owners can be punished but only if people report them either to Streetscene at Burnley Council or to the local police.

Let’s aim to make Cliviger clean in 2011.
