LETTER: Display our Union flags all year round, not just at the Royal Wedding
How fantastic to see the millions of Union flags cheerfully waved and displayed all over the country for the Royal Wedding.
It gladdens the heart to see such an outpouring of pride in our country, its traditions and our Royal Family. It is easy to think the country is nowadays peopled only by cynics, particularly at a time of such painful economic cutbacks, but the wedding of William and Catherine showed such despair is misplaced.
We have a lot to be proud of in Britain and I would love everyone to keep on displaying their flags, large and small, long after the wedding day. Come on, stand up and be counted as a patriot.
