LETTER: Car parking charges hit dog walkers

I am writing to ask why, just because I am a dog walker who uses Towneley twice a day, seven days a week, I have to pay £1 or 70p an hour, between 8am and 10pm.

How is it that the Towneley Park runners are allowed to park on both car parks from 9am on a Saturday and do not have to pay.

I have written to Burnley Council on two occasions and have been told it would be monitored, but still nothing has changed.

I appreciate you can buy passes, but at the present time I cannot afford to pay that amount of money all at once. But I do feel dog walkers are being penalised while everybody else is not it is annoying when you see it week in, week out.
