LETTER: Burnley Wood won’t be fobbed off on road safety

FINALLY the people and their councillors have shown the local council that the people of Burnley Wood were not going to be shrugged off on an issue such as a crossing on a busy, dangerous road.

Parliament Street had seen several deaths as the road became busier and busier even with a speed limit that did not stop deaths.

As for the excuse of the cost of erecting a crossing, what price do they put on a life?

I say thanks to our local councillors, who have kept nagging the town hall, and most sincerely the people of Burnley Wood that they were not going away on this deplorable issue.

M.L. MOBEY
