LETTER: Blue Badge holders do have to pay to park sometimes
You correctly point out to users of Blue Badges that they need to check the signage of car parks.
Dr Lynda Bracken may say she has never known Blue Badge holders having to pay! She has obviously never been anywhere in the South Lakes Authority, I know this applies in Coniston and Kirkby Lonsdale, and this is on local authority car parks not private ones as in Whalley.
Could I also correct Robert Shaw about his comments concerning Waddington? The car park he refers to was constructed on Glebe land belonging to the church for temporary use by residents during extensive disruption to the roads when they had to carry out strengthening of the bridges to meet EEC regulalations and was quite rightly returned to its original use.
