LETTER: Barnoldswick has a jobs fair

I WAS somewhat surprised to read Andrew Stephenson’s remarks in your edition of January 27th regarding the jobs and apprentice fair that was held at the Muni in Colne yesterday. He said “Pendle did not have a job fair to bring together under one roof local employers and businesses.”

Perhaps he has forgotten West Craven is within the borough of Pendle and two job fairs have been held at the Rainhall Centre, Barnoldswick, in the past year. These two events were warmly received by local people and employers alike and proved extremely successful. In fact, Mr Stephenson went on record, in the papers, applauding the West Craven initiative.

Local people throughout Burnley and Pendle have attended the previous two job fairs and are welcome to attend the third job fair at the Rainhall Centre on Thursday, February 23rd, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mr Stephenson is also welcome, if only to remind him that West Craven is definitely a prosperous and integral part of Pendle - at least for the time being!
