Hog roast ... not good news for us or the pig
There have been one or two letters of late regarding the proliferation of “hog roast” events. (Another Americanism creeping into our culture, like “trick or treat” and “high school proms”).
But considering that meat is one of the leading causes of heart disease and the shocking over-use of antibiotics by the agriculture industry has rendered these incredible drugs all but useless, there seems little to celebrate with a hog roast - for us or the hog!
