‘Hiding’ speed camera against sprit of law

I have only just realised, after reading your article again, that nowhere do you mention that the reason almost 4,000 motorists were caught speeding in Princess Way, Burnley, is because the mobile speed camera was not parked in Princess Way, but instead was “hiding” on a parallel road.

This, in my opinion, goes completely against the spirit of the law re speed cameras – i.e. paint them yellow, high visibility and mount them on poles.

I have spoken to anyone who would listen about this matter, including our most unsympathetic MP Gordon Birtwistle whose comments were that he agreed with speed cameras being hidden to the extent of him believing they should be installed on the tops of buildings.
