Every Claret is thrilled for Jay Rod

I am not surprised at Jay Rodriguez being called up for the full England squad.

For a lad from Burnley who went to Barden High School (just as I did) is a tremendous achievement.

It was plain to everyone when he first came on the scene in 2008/2009 and scored against Fulham that he had talent.

He has reached the level he is at today due to hard work, dedication and belief. Not many Barden schoolboys reach the level he has reached!

I believe he can go still higher because he is a winner, and wants to reach the ultimate goal. He is very level-headed and is very close to his Burnley roots. Every Claret is thrilled for him, because he set a target to reach at a very young age. He is “One of Our Own” and is proud to say he comes from Burnley.
