Did they have to build on lodge?
I visit Clitheroe occasionally, having spent many happy days there in the ’60s and ’70s staying with my uncle, and find it interesting how the town has changed over the years (though not too much).
Obviously, lots more houses have had to be built, but spare land is usually available and so was it really necessary to drain a lovely old mill lodge at Primrose Bridge to build several large houses so close together? Surely not!
