Delighted by generosity of Ribble Valley residents

Mr Whalley, according to his solicitor, is a local man who has suffered hard times.

It might well be these are self-inflicted, but people around here are generous to a fault – the charity “dos”, bungee jumps, cycle rides and mudbaths that feature in the Clitheroe Advertiser every week provide evidence of that.

When I was out in the rain last Saturday selling poppies, I was delighted by the generosity of all who stopped to donate.

I should also say one of the first to add a few coins was Mr Whalley.
