We write in response to comments made towards Colne Cricket Club following a function on April 5th.

The comments made by your reader are particularly unhelpful given the financial circumstances of the club and we would like to share our view of the event from April 5th.

We would like to place on record the customer was offered the option of cancelling the function due to the lack of water amenities but chose for it to go ahead. The staff on the evening/night worked extremely hard to reduce the impact on people attending the function by providing water to assist with flushing toilets and general hygiene.

Subsequent to the function, Colne Cricket Club was contacted by the Environmental Health and following a visit from a member of the EH team the club has been given the all clear to carry on offering the kitchen facility as an addition to the function hire.

We would like to repeat that the new committee is working extremely hard with members and a number of organisations to improve the financial position of the club and this work will not stop until the club is in a stable position and free of historical debt.

The committee would like to thank you for taking the time to read our side of events and would encourage everyone in the local area to support their local cricket club. Please visit our website www.colnecc.com for up and coming events and fixtures.
