Councillors should set a good example

A recent news report stated a number of East Lancashire councillors, including some in Pendle, faced the possibility of being taken to court for not paying their community charge.

A further report claims £2.5bn is owed in council tax areas in England, equivalent to more than £100 for every home in the country, with £3 in every £100 going uncollected last year.

Is there not something disgusting that the very people who not only manage our lives but should also be setting an example to the rest of us are the ones contributing to the debt mountain?
