Council leader doesn’t seem too shy to me

I note the Deputy Labour Party Agent Sue Graham has protested that the Express has continued to run Gordon Birtwistle’s “A week in Westminster” column, in the run-up to the recent local and European elections.

Oddly enough, the Labour Party showed no such concern when his Labour predecessors, Peter Pike, and the disgraced former Treasury Minister, Kitty Ussher, penned similar columns up to elections in the past.

Harry Brooks laments the lack of coverage of Labour council leader Julie Cooper. In the last two years, Ms Cooper has been photographed with The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales and the promotion-winning Burnley FC squad among others ... our former council leader doesn’t seem too shy to me!
