Charity begins at home
I would like to point something out about charity shops and, in particular, the one which I work in for Pendleside Hospice in Dockray Street, Colne.
It is a real shame all charity shops have to rely on the general public giving donations such as clothes, shoes, ornaments, pictures and books.
Why can’t our government fund the charities more? After all, we are always reading or seeing on the television our government handing out millions of pounds to help other causes.
Let’s not forget how many people in this country rely on hospices.
Let’s get our priorities right. I have alsways believed charity begins at home.
