Change of mind over former school sites?

A few years ago, when it was proposed to amalgamate Ivy Bank and Habergham High Schools, I wrote to Coun. Marcus Johnson asking why the then present location of these schools could not be used to build the new Hambledon School and, if they used a new location, what would happen to the land.

In his reply, Coun. Johnson said this site was too near Shuttleworth School and when this site was vacated, he assured me, the land would be made available to the community and would never be sold for housing. It is amazing how these people can tell you one thing and, when it suits their purpose, change their minds.
