Big thankyou to high school staff

I wish to thank the headmaster Mr Baker and his staff at West Craven High School in Barnoldswick for their togetherness when the new church school opened next door to it on Kelbrook Road at the start of the new term in September.

On the first day, I took my son to junior school. Mr Baker and his staff were stood at the top corner ensuring the junior school children got to school safely and were not interrupted by high school children. This was a main worry for a lot of parents having the junior school next to a high school, but the fact was these teachers made it a smooth, pleasant transition and ensured pupils all got to school without any confrontations.

Up until the last week before half term, a member of staff from the high school has still been stood there in all weathers ensuring there is no trouble between high and junior school pupils.

I’d like to say thank you very much to the West Craven staff from myself and I’m sure from many other concerned parents at the time for bringing the community spirit back into Barlick and the trust into all the very pleasant teenagers we have in this town.
