A big fat zero for Lancs County Council service

I would like to give Ribble Valley Borough Council 10 out of 10 for the effective and competent way they collect my council rates, but a big fat zero to Lancashire County Council for completely ignoring my complaint about the poor and biased newspaper service at Whalley Library when compared to that at Padiham – both LCC-run.

I was promised a reply to my complaint within 15 working days... still waiting over two months later. Do some public sector staff take a vow of silence on entering council property?

I pay my rates and taxes and deserve better.

I also mentioned in my previous letter on this subject that a chunk of my small state pension is taken, via council rates and added to council employees’ “gold-plated” second pension pot. None, it seems, want to try to justify this injustice in public. Why?
