Investment is no more than '˜can do' Burnley deserves
There were two major good news stories announced this week, both of which will give a massive economic boost to the town. Pride of place has to go to UCLan’s announcement that they intend to site 4,000 students in Burnley over the next seven years - up from the current complement of under 400.
The move will have a profound impact on the borough, effectively turning Burnley into a university town.

In the short term UCLan intend to take over the now empty UTC building on Trafalgar Street - again more good news.
UCLan has selected Burnley for this major investment and expansion programme thanks to the ‘can do’ attitude shown in recent years. Just reward indeed for all the hard work put in by the public and private sectors who continue to blaze a partnership trail envied by most other areas.
• The second economic boost came with the unveiling of the new Vision Park on the site of the former recycling tip on Princess Way.The park will create 300 new jobs and pump £7m a year into the Burnley economy. Happy days!
