We’re seeing real improvements in housing

Living and working in Burnley as I do, it really is evident that the town’s housing stock is slowly, but surely, being transformed.

Areas such as Accrington Road, Duke Bar, Padiham and Burnley Wood are being given a long-awaited facelift with rows of dilapidated back-to-back housing making way for modern homes.

Some of our housing stock was not fit for man nor beast. Now more and more modern, affordable homes are springing up around the borough. But there is still a long way to go before all residents have homes fit for the 21st century.

At least we are making progress.
