Over the years residents have raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for a variety of appeals. The latest success is highlighted with the news Burnley MP Gordon Birtwistle’s appeal to buy a portable male cancer scanner has reached its target, and the piece of life-saving machinery is set to go into action.
The scanner is a major boon in the bid to detect possible cancers at an early stage and will save many lives here in Burnley.
