War on chewing gum offenders is most welcome
Walking through Burnley town centre the other lunchtime, I was struck by how little litter there is.
The Charter Walk area is particularly litter free thanks to a continuous clearing up process. St James’s Street is not that bad either.
No, the real problem is discarded chewing gum. If you ever take a closer look at the pavement you are met with thousands upon thousands of unsightly black dots – evidence of a can’t be bothered attutude.
This week’s war on litter and chewing gum offenders is most welcome.
