Time to blow our own trumpets here in Burnley
Business secretary Vince Cable has been singing Burnley’s praises on the national stage – and rightly so too.
We have always been a bit reluctant to blow our own trumpet here in Burnley - decades of industrial decline and factory closures left us battered and bruised when it came to business self confidence. But there is a new, positive feel to Burnley’s business community.
It was very much in evidence at the recent Burnley Business Awards and now the Business Secretary has cited Burnley as an example of what can be achieved by public and private sector working together.
So let’s stick our chests out for once and enjoy the plaudits.
