Long wait for family of Ian Terry
It’s been six years since that dreadful day when Burnley policeman Ian Terry was killed when an armed response training exercise went tragically wrong.
That’s six years of agony for Ian’s wife and children, six years of unanswered questions and this week, at long last, the inquiry into the family man’s death finally concluded. One officer has been forced to resign and another reprimanded.
Why has it taken so long to get to this stage? Why does it not feel like justice has finally been done and criminal charges brought?
A man went to work and never came home ... surely someone must be held accountable.
