We have always punched above our weight when it comes to football, thanks to the Clarets, but this time it is cricket and athletics that take the plaudits. I was lucky to be at Lowerhouse on Friday evening, along with 2,000 others, to witness ‘House romp to their first T20 Cup triumph.

And then our very own Jimmy ‘Burnley Express’ Anderson bowled England to Ashes success in the First Test with a man-of-the-match 10-wicket haul.

And to cap off a remarkable few days Burnley’s Golden Girl Sophie Hitchon landed hammer gold in the Euro U23 championships. Congrats to you all.
