Is end to roadworks misery finally in sight?

Why? Because we have spent the last 27 weeks tearing our hair out as a hotch-potch of roadworks has made getting in and out of Burnley at peak times nigh on impossible.

But, at last, it appears that the end could be in sight as a number of workmen have been spotted in the vicinity of the roundabout at the top of Westgate.

Signs are this is not a false dawn as, on my trip into work yesterday, they were actually removing some of the barriers that have adorned our roads for so long.

Now we eagerly await the big lights switch on and a return to flowing traffic and hair growth.
