I welcome fight against bandit landlords
An ever-increasing number of residents are now being forced to rent property and therein lies a problem.
For many people are now investing in buy-to-let properties with the aim of making a fast buck out of the property game.
Now I am certain the vast majority of landlords are well-meaning, honest and caring and take their legal responsibilites seriously. But sadly, there does appear to be a small minority who care little for the well-being of their tenants who can find themselves living in what can only be described as a hovel.
Moves by our local councils to tackle these latter-day bandits are most welcome.
