Far-reaching plans for new housing developments and possible travellers’ sites across the Burnley borough will no doubt stir up a hornet’s nest of reaction.
The Local Plan is a key document – a blueprint for future development and prosperity across the town.
What is vital is that as many residents as possible feed into the process and register their objections or support.
Human nature dictates a Not In My Backyard (NIMBY) approach to these issues. But unless residents voice their opinions they can have no room for complaint after final decisions are taken.
