Hameldon Community College has come in for deserved criticism in recent years, but it is now making headlines for all the right reasons.
Ofsted inspectors have just praised the school for the progress it is making – and the proof in the pudding is the fact 20% more students gained five or more GCSE A to C grades this summer.
That feat is down to a determination to continue to turn things round by teachers and pupils alike.
What is crucial now is that nobody rests on their laurels and the desire to improve and improve again goes on.
