England expects,but less than usual
Is it just me, or does the 2014 World Cup lack the pre-tournament fervour of previous competitions?
Even the prospect of the event being hosted in Brazil has failed to light the blue touchpaper as most England supporters are showing little more than a passing interest with just over a week to go. Once of a day the build-up to a World Cup was a time of great excitement, memorable official anthems and constant updates on the broken metatarsals of David Beckham and Wayne Rooney. The fact that England stand little hope of lifting the coveted prize may have something to do with it. Or maybe it is football overload.
