Co-ordinated approach needed for education

News that a new ‘Free’ high school is to open in Burnley has certainly sparked debate among local politicians, parents and teachers.

Concerned parties point to the falling numbers at some of our highly-expensive ‘super schools’ and fear another school would only hasten their demise.

On the flip side, many parents who want their children brought up in a Faith environment currently have to bus their offspring to Blackburn and Accrington.

What is quite clear is that as last year’s CGSE results gave cause for concern, a co-ordinated approach is needed.
